Air Quality

Findings

Is Georgia Tech prepared for this hazard? How so?

  • NoGT does not have a plan for implementing processes/procedures in the event that air quality is unhealthy, nor a way of communicating/ notifying its community. GT also does not have its own way of monitoring the air quality and must rely on outside sources, but these sources are not being monitored in any capacity by the university.

How impactful will be this hazard be in 10 years? In 20 years?

  • Very impactful if mitigation does not take place

How can Georgia Tech adapt to this hazard in the next 5 to 10 years?

  • The investment of air quality sensors and integration of emergency response system to notify GT campus community as a health advisory during poor air quality condition

  • Adaptation of precautionary procedures to address extremely poor air quality conditions such as remote learning or virtual classrooms

  • Implementation of zero emissions on campus
